1st Isabela PMFC Commiserates with the Agta Community

In a heartwarming display of community spirit and support, the 1st Isabela Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), under the leadership of PLtCol Ruben M. Martinez, Force Commander, recently carried out a significant outreach initiative aimed at uplifting the Agta community on July 9, 2024. The event was a part of a broader series of outreach activities, including Project “BENCH” (Birthday Engagement Charity) and Project “ISCORT” (Isabela PMFC Service Caravan Outreach and Reaching Out), which have consistently demonstrated the company’s commitment to community welfare.


Project “BENCH” is an initiative that turns the personal milestones of 1st Isabela PMFC personnel into opportunities for giving back. Through this project, birthdays and other special occasions are marked by acts of charity, ensuring that celebrations extend beyond personal joy to communal well-being. On the other hand, Project “ISCORT”, a service caravan outreach program, is designed to bring essential services and support directly to marginalized and remote communities, reinforcing the company’s dedication to reaching out to those in need. In partnership with the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP)-Isabela, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of San Mariano, the Department of Agriculture, the Philippine Army, barangay officials, life coaches, and members of the National Coalition Lingkod Bayan Advocacy Support Groups and Force Multipliers, the 1st Isabela PMFC ensured that essential grocery packs were distributed to Agta families.


The PNP Community Outreach Program, which spearheaded this initiative, underscores the commitment of each milestone of the 1st Isabela PMFC personnel in terms of extending valuable support to vulnerable communities. The Agta community, known for its rich cultural heritage and traditions, often faces challenges in accessing essential resources. Recognizing this, the outreach program to bridges the gap and provide much-needed food supplies to Agta families.


PLtCol Martinez expressed his gratitude to all the partners and volunteers who made the distribution possible. “This initiative reflects our dedication to supporting the Agta community and ensuring that they have access to the basic necessities,” he stated. The distribution event was more than just a handout; it was a testament to the power of collective effort and solidarity. Each grocery pack contained a variety of essential items, including rice, canned goods, and other staple foods, aimed at alleviating the immediate needs of the recipients.
