1st PMFC Palawan’s Outreach Program in Balabac: Bridging Communities and Building Trust

Engaging in the community promotes a culture of mutual respect and cooperation, ultimately fostering goodwill and bridging gaps that were made too wide perhaps because of complacency or negligence. PNP strengthens its role as both protectors and partners in nation-building and bringing police services closer to the people ensures a unified approach to solving local issues. Through the aid of the Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay (R-PSB), this aspiration continues to thrive.

The 1st Palawan Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), led by PLtCol Cristopher L. Navida, Force Commander, together with the Provincial Medical and Dental Team headed by PCpt Jay C. Bonales, Team Leader, had conducted a successful Police Community Relations (PCR) activity aligned with the Revitalized-Pulis Sa Barangay (R-PSB) program in Sitio Maria Hangin, Barangay Bugsuk in Balabac, Palawan on January 23, 2025.

Benefitting a total of 224 residents, including pupils and teachers from Barangay Bugsuk, the team had prepared a variety of activities and provided services for the well-being of the locals. Medical and dental assistance was organized to provide free checkups and medications to those with limited access to healthcare services. Simultaneously, the team had distributed essential goods such as slippers, biscuits and candies, medicine and vitamins, and had offered free medical services, including tooth extraction and circumcision.

The activity concluded with a heartfelt expression of gratitude from both sides, as residents and barangay officials commended the 1st PMFC Palawan for their dedication and service. This initiative not only reinforced the police’s role as peacekeepers but also as partners in development. Through efforts like these, PNP demonstrates its steadfast commitment to the well-being and progress of even the most remote communities in Palawan. These activities empower residents to actively participate in maintaining peace and order, creating a sense of shared responsibility.

As days pass, the realization grows stronger that the community no longer views the police with fear but with admiration and love. Through their heartfelt services and unwavering dedication, the police have become a source of inspiration to the public. Their sincere efforts to reach out to even the most underserved areas speak volumes about their commitment to serve and protect, which was indeed reciprocated with the genuine smiles of gratitude from the people. This transformation reflects a bond built on trust and compassion, where the community sees PNP not just as an enforcer of the law but as a true partner in progress and development.
