
The Philippine National Police (PNP) formally received various in-kind donations from Coalition of Lingkod Bayan Support Groups and Force Multipliers during the Ceremonial Turn-over of Donations for Victims of Typhoon Odette held at PNP Grandstand, Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City.
Consistent with its mission and functions, the PNP through the Police Community Affairs and Development Group (PCADG), in collaboration with the Office of the Acting Chief of Directorial Staff (OTACDS) and Directorate for Police Community Relations (DPCR) received the donations for the BARANGAYanihan Help and Food Bank that will be distributed in relief operations to affected areas of the onslaught of typhoon Odette in different parts of the country.
On behalf of Chief PNP, Police General Dionardo B Carlos, Police Lieutenant General Joselito M Vera Cruz, the Deputy Chief for Administration acknowledged the generosity and support of multi-sectoral group as he read the message and words of gratitude of the Chief PNP.“Maraming salamat sa inyong pagtugon at pakikibahagi sa isa na namang misyon ng ating Pambansang Pulisya, at iyon ay para makapaghatid ng tulong para sa ating mga kapwa Pilipino sa Visayas, Mindanao at sa iba pang parte ng ating bansa”, Vera Cruz said.
“The foundation of this strong partnership with multi-sectoral advocacy support groups guided by both whole-of-community and whole-of-government approaches has provided greater empowerment and integration of resources and further establishes greater resiliency stance through shared understanding of community needs towards peaceful, progressive and sustainable development of our country”, Vera Cruz added.
The Lingkod Bayan Advocacy and Support Groups and Force Multipliers who were present during the Turnover Ceremony were Ms. Gemma Sotto of Global Peace Community Relations, Atty. Cherry Dela Cruz of Womens-based Advocacy Group, Mr Mitch Ortiz of Force Multiplier Advocacy Group, Bishop Noel Pantoja of Faith-based Advocacy Group, Mr Imad Ammar of Foreign National Keepers Network, Mr Manjinder “Jaimes” Kumar, President, Filipino-Indian Commerce and Welfare Society, Mr Jerome V Oliveros of Joint Industrial Peace Concerns Office, Atty Bruce Vera of LGBT-based Advocacy Group, Ms Michelle Gumabao of Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo, Undersecretary Edilberto D Leonardo of Kaligkasan and Undersecretary Martin Dino of Barangay-based Advocacy Group.
Through BARANGAYanihan Help and Food Bank Program, which was launched on May 13, 2021, PNP was able to provide a pro-active response through government services and community support through BARANGAYanihan activities especially during public health emergencies and natural calamities across the country.
Chief PNP Carlos in his message commended the efforts of Police Community Affairs and Development Group (PCADG) under the leadership of Police Brigadier General Eric Noble, who successfully spearheaded the Barangayanihan Program in all PNP units. The donated in-kind goods and supplies will be transported through relief mission to areas devastated by typhoon Odette in Visayas and Mindanao.
