Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Police General Dionardo B Carlos commended the good deeds initiated by men and women of Padre Burgos Police Station in Southern Leyte who extended a helping hand in the reconstruction of a local house severely damaged by Typhoon Odette last December 2021.
The “Bayanihan” project to reconstruct the home of Mr. Romeo Amoncio, Chief Tanod of Barangay Laca, Municipality of Padre Burgos was made possible through the joint efforts of Padre Burgos Municipal Station personnel headed by Police Lieutenant Keir Jhon R Hallasgo, Officer-in-Charge along with the generous support of Reformist Guardian International, a PNP Advocacy Support Group under the headship of Brother Ruby G Menter, RGI Chapter President.
Southern Leyte was among the three hardest-hit areas in the country including Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Island that suffered extensive damage brought by the onslaught of Typhoon Odette which destroyed 405 establishments, wrecked more than 120 thousand houses and caused several deaths.
“The spirit of volunteerism once again triumphs among us Filipinos who generously extended their help for this noble endeavor.
