“True love is for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health, till death do us part!”
Four couples of Police Regional Office 7 took their vows during the holy sacrament of marriage dubbed as PRO7 Mass Wedding last February 18, 2022, at PRO7 St. Ignatius De Loyola Chapel, Camp Sergio Osmena Sr, Cebu City.
The ceremony was spearheaded by PRO7 Regional Director PBGen Roque Eduardo DP Vega, members of the Command Group, Regional Staff and City and Provincial Directors, and Force Commander, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 7 as the primary sponsors.
PNP personnel who were previously married in a civil wedding joined the mass wedding prepared by PRO7.
The couples were PMSg Gerald Magpantay (RPRMD) and PSSg Vel Anne Magpantay (CCPO); PSSg Estrelieta Caste and Mr. Benevado Caste Jr (RMFB7); PCpl Rojie Adrian Tario and Mrs. Lady Jane Tario (CPPO); and PCpl Jennibeth Antabo (CPPO) and Pat Roy Antabo (CCPO).
The couples marched on the red carpet and were inspired by the message of PCol Julius Cruz, the Chief, Regional Chaplain Officer of PRO7 who officiated the mass wedding. In his message, PCol Cruz said that wives submit to their own husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the Church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. In the same way, husbands should love their wives as their own bodies because he who loves his wife loves himself.
The PNP supports the sanctity of marriage of its personnel. It adheres to its inviolability as one of the pillars in a democratic and civilized society. It further endeavors to enhance the welfare of its personnel by providing opportunities for their religious expression and moral growth.
PBGen Vega in his message said communication in a relationship is essential. One needs to understand the other. “Live a life that is centered in God so that whatever trials that you may encounter, you will be guided according to His will. What God has joined together, let no man put asunder,” added Vega.
The PNP took it upon itself to encourage the furtherance of the married life of its personnel primarily because police officers adhere to the standard of morality and decency, setting good examples for others for them to emulate in living a virtuous life.
Congratulations and best wishes to the newlyweds!
