Hospitality at its finest- this is what the Aviation Police and Civil Aeronautics Board in Davao demonstrated to a stranded family who are in need after they missed their scheduled flight last May 28, 2022.
The Combate couple and their four minor children missed their flight to Iloilo province, when they arrived an hour late after taking a public transportation from Cotabato Province to Davao International Airport.
With insufficient funds, the family was helpless as they needed about Php30,000.00 to board their trip. Their family in Iloilo was able to send them Php15,000.00 but it wasn’t enough to cover the cost of their flight.
As luck have it, Ms. Hannah Sarah C Tamba of the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) was able to rebook their flight at a cheaper fare, but the schedule is on June 2, 2022. Enable to save some amount, the family chose to stay at Davao Airport until their scheduled flight.
During their stay at the airport, the support and help of airport employees, especially the Aviation Police, who provided their food and other necessities for five days, poured in.
Besides that, the Airport Police and employees raised Php4,400.00 as additional help for the stranded family.
The Combate family departed Davao bound for Iloilo on June 2, 2022 and expressed their profound gratitude to the Davao International Airport Police, CAB and airport employees for extending their assistance.
Police Brigadier General Andre Perez Dizon, Director of PNP Aviation Security Group lauded the remarkable gesture of his men that is worthy of emulation and a commendable one.
