The successful inauguration of the PNP Automated Retirement Processing System (PARPS) took place on May 2, 2022 at the PNP National Headquarters, Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame, Quezon City. This was made possible through the efforts of PBGen Nio David L. Rabaya, the Director of the PNP Retirement, and Benefits Administration Service (PRBS).
The said unit is responsible and accountable for administering of PNP personnel’s retirement and separation benefits, as well as implementing procedures, strategies and activities to improve and expand the confidence, moral and welfare of the PNP retirees.
However, many retirees and would-be retirees face the same recurrent difficulty in the application for retirement and benefit claims. The applications which are manual, arduous and voluminous, to name the few, the processing of retirement benefits difficult and time-consuming.
The PNP Automated Retirement Processing System (PARPS) was created to support the PNP’s digital transformation efforts. Not just for the retirees, but also for PRBS. The system is meant to make filing retirement and benefit claims easier.
The following are some of the System’s benefits: (1) PNP officers can apply for retirement easily online; (2) Real-time application status updates are provided for retirees; (3) Real-time retirement claim are allowed to be uploaded; (4) It prevents document fabrication and fraud; (5) Document fraud and forgery are avoided; and (6) Fixer intervention and transaction red tape are eliminated.
PNP, under the leadership of the then CPNP PGen Dionardo Carlos, and with the active assistance of TDPRM PMGen Hermino Tadeo Jr., poised PARPS to success. PBGEN Nio David L. Rabaya, is looking forward to the System’s effective implementation with the help of other interested office/units, and the active participation of retirees and would-be retirees.
