Demilitarizing guns that have been turned in and welcoming new FRs
One hundred eighty-three guns were demilitarized in Region 10 as a sign that the government is not reusing guns given up by former rebels. The demilitarized firearms are sold as scrap through a public auction. The person who wins the auction can choose to melt down the metal parts of the guns and use them for other things.
“We are glad that Region 10 is making progress, and we hope that with the help of our partner organizations, we will be able to keep convincing more rebels to give up and join the government,” said Agabe
The Regional Management Coordinating Committee (RMCC) of Region 10 is made up of the following agencies: DILG, Philippine National Police (PNP)-10, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-10, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)-10, and National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM)-10; National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF)-10, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-10, Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC)-10, Philippine Commission on Women (PCW)-10, National Youth Commission (NYC)-10, and Bukidnon ECLIP Committee led by Governor Rogelio Neil P.
