
The PNP Marching Band was organized to provide musical entertainment to all PNP affairs, be they cultural or in the social functions, and in other activity authorized activities.
Officially organized on April 29, 2010 under the operating unit of Camp Security Escort Unit (CSEU) as per NHQ PNP General Orders Number DPL-10-02, it is composed of two (2) PCOs, one (1) action PNCO and eight-five (85) PNCO band personnel.
All requests for the services of the PNP Marching Band should be made in writing, addressed to the Chief PNP, stating the place, date and time of the other pertinent information relative to the event or the services to be rendered.
The PNP Marching Band maintains a full band rehearsal three times a week in preparation for incoming engagements.
On May 10, 2022, the PNP received an invitation letter from General To Lam, Minister of the Public Security Socialist, Republic of Vietnam inviting the marching band to perform during the Police Music Festival of ASEAN Countries from July 7 to 10, 2022 at Hanoi, Vietnam.
In response to this invitation, 25 Headquarters Support Service (HSS) personnel led by Montano H. Mañabo PNCOIC, Band Section, and supervised by Police Major Glenda R Cleofe, Chief, PCR, HSS, participated in and gave musical renditions to compliment the said event/festival.
July 9 was the 1st day of the festival. The PNP Marching Band performed to impress: apt music to back up street performances, giving the opening ceremony and the parade colors and life through its musical renditions, transforming Hoan Kiem Lake a most festive site.
The following day, the band participated in an outdoor concert, the band’s score was a spectrum of the “Rice Drums”, arranged by the organizing committee to depict the people’s security march at Ly Thai To Square, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.
On July 11 and 12, the privileged day tour provided by the host country showcasing Hanoi’s traditional culture, hospitality and gratitude to the Philippine delegation.
