On December 16, 2022, the pioneering class of Police Community Affairs and Development Course Class Masikhay 08-2022, under the supervision of the Police Community Affairs and Development Course finally saw its closing ceremony.
The PCADC Class Masikhay 08-2022 was composed of 14 Police Commissioned Officers and 36 Police Non-Commissioned Officers mostly from the Regional Police Community Affairs and Development Units (RPCADUs), and other PNP units. It totalled to an exact 50 graduates.
To embrace the said closing ceremony, the presence of Police Major General Mario A. Reyes, The Director of The Directorate for Police Community Relations served as its Keynote Speaker, leading the ceremonial pinning of the badge as a symbol of being a certified PCAD Specialist/Operator.
Among the top students recognized were Police Corporal Irish N. Lucaney of the Police Community Affairs and Development Group (PCADG) who attained the highest rating of 97.37%; followed by Police Corporal Noel E. Tumaliuan, from RPCADU NCR with second highest rating of 97.3%; and Police Master Sergeant Richard Q. Parcon, from RPCADU 4A with the third highest rating of 96.81%. Special awards were also given to deserving graduates who showed excellence in different areas.
The Police Community Affairs and Development Course is a 45-day course designed to train and equip officers, and personnel with the appropriate knowledge, skills, and attitude in community organizing and mobilization which are parts and parcels of the very mandate of police-community relations. This is considered the best competency course that every PCR personnel must have.
“Now that you have finally completed this course, I am expecting more from you, utilizing everything that you have learned to better serve the public properly and reliably, and show the true spirit of public service. I am hopeful that as a Police Community Affairs and Development Specialist, you can effectively implement our existing programs that are geared toward the fulfillment of our countrymen’s needs, especially those that are in vulnerable places.”, PMGen Reyes added.
