Sustaining peace and order requires a collaborative effort from the police and the community. These key players must establish an interrelated and requited relationship that is imperative to achieving success in promoting public safety and security.
Police General Rodolfo S. Azurin, Jr., Chief of the Philippine National Police, wanted to reinvigorate the PNP KASIMBAYANAN Program nationwide to strengthen the community’s currently underway peace, order, and development by focusing on enhancing the image of the police as fully competent, effective, and highly credible with the help and support of the religious sectors.
In the pursuit of Regional Director Police Brigadier General Roderick Augustus B Alba’s, aspiration to implement the Revitalized KASIMBAYANAN Program in Central Visayas, on November 8, 2022, the program was successfully launched in the Police Regional Office 7 to reaffirm the strong collaboration between and among various sectors for sustaining peace and development in the community.
Believing that “man by nature is good”, this project aims to remind the PNP personnel of their good traits, and to share the fact that the people they serve are also intrinsically good.
With this concept, the community will have an active partnership with PNP, imbibing a positive image for collaborative programs and the mobilization of individuals to address pressing challenges and constraints in the communities.
Team PNP Region 7 reinvigorates its community and service-oriented policing as the core of the Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan tungo sa Kaunlaran (M+K+K=K) framework under the new normal, integrating all sectors of the community in an ecumenical call for peace and order anchored in developing every Filipino Citizen as a God-Centered individual.
Police Regional Office 7 conducted various KASIMBAYANAN activities such as Livelihood Programs, Community Outreach Activities, and Housing Project – The “Balay sa Gugma”, “Balay sa Kabus”, and “Project Sayon Pabahay Program”, that can strongly build explicit brotherhood and alliance towards the community.
Indeed, with all these successful activities, the Police Regional Office 7 is confident to strengthen its anti-criminality, anti-illegal drugs, anti-insurgency, and anti-terrorism programs highlighting the crime prevention strategic role of the KASIMBAYANAN Spiritual advisers in bridging the gap of the police and the community it serves and protects. Through the peace and security framework of the Chief PNP and his programs, we are gaining the trust and confidence of the community with the support of the Church, stakeholders, other law enforcement agencies, and volunteer groups moving in one direction as a team. Only by working together and fostering partnerships, we can make a great difference in creating an organized, disciplined and more progressive communities.
