“The Children’s are the Country’s Future”
The Philippine National Police unites with the country’s commemoration of the 30th National Children’s Month anchored with the theme “Kalusugan, Kaisipan, at Kapakanan ng Bawat Bata Ating Tutukan”.
Pursuant to Republic Act No. 10661, signed on 29 May 2015, November is declared as the National Children’s Month. It is a month-long celebration for children that aims to instill consciousness and sustain the promotion and protection of children’s rights in every Filipino.
On November 21, 2022, PNP celebrated the observance of 30th National Children’s Month with PLtGen Rhodel O Sermonia, The Deputy Chief, PNP for Administration, representing PNP Chief General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. during the event, with Council for the Welfare of Children Executive Director, USec Angelo M Tapales as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.
“Today, PNP has again treaded one step forward in advancing the “best interest” and well-being of every child. In recent years, several programs, policies, projects and activities have been introduced, carried out and sustained by PNP as an instrument of the government to fulfil its commitment to international treaties and national laws for the protection of children’s human rights. This is not just a sacred and cherished tradition, but a way of life in PNP”, PLtGen Sermonia said.
USec Tapales expressed that CWC will seek to address the mental health and well-being of children, as the children is the most vulnerable sector of society, and with the advent of the Mental Health Act of 2018, it is a step towards the right direction.
“This celebration is just the start of a deeper and more meaningful partnership with the PNP, kailangan po namin ang inyong tulong, kailangan po namin kayong maging boses, maging mata at maging kamay sa pag-iimpliminta ng mga batas at polisiya para sa ating mga kabataan”.
