“We deeply appreciate the outlay for mission-essential equipment that is earmarked for PNP this year to further boost the mobility, and firepower capabilities of every PNP unit from the regional offices down to municipal police stations and precincts,” PGen Azurin said.
The patrol vehicles will be issued to Provincial Mobile Force Companies and Municipal Police Stations with mountainous terrains while the ambulances will be issued to the PNP Health Service. The all-purpose vest will be given to the high-risk police stations of every police regional office, while the firearms will be distributed to PNP nationwide.
PGen Azurin also underscores that the security and welfare of the people do not only depend on the number of police officers in the field but also on their efficiency and effectiveness, particularly, with the needed equipment and firearms they have in their respective stations and offices.
“As we mobilize the police units in the field, we must also increase the effectiveness of our police officers by giving them the necessary equipment,” PGen Azurin stated.
He reminded and encouraged all police units and offices, being the recipients of all the procured PNP equipment, to use them properly and take good care of them as these were procured from the people’s taxes.
“This is part of the ‘Malasakit program’ under M+K+K=K which aspires to address the external and internal issues of the organization. Every police officer must also take into mind and action our sworn duty to serve and protect our community. And by taking care of our equipment, we also live this value for our organization,” PGen Azurin added.
