Prior to becoming a cadet in the Philippine National Police Academy, several steps must be hurdled by aspiring applicants. And prior to becoming a true public servant and officer in the DILG tri-bureau: the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and Bureau of Fire Protection, the cadets will have to undergo rigorous training in the fields of police science, public safety, and law enforcement for four gruelling but experience-laden years.
In PNPA, men and women are holistically molded through regimented programs and exercises, and trainings, pushing them to the limit to test their adaptability and resilience, and in the end, honing them as models of humankind, most ready to serve and protect.
With the efforts and dedication of all the mentors of the academy, members of the cadet corps brandish their skills and knowledge, serving as their weapons in making a difference in ways to serve the Filipino people with humility and excellence, ever ready in battling the enemies of the state.
One of the unforgettable experiences of PNPA are the nuggets of wisdom contributed by Senator Francis N. Tolentino as a new member of the Academics Group’s Distinguished Visiting Professor starting January 31, 2023.
PMGen Eric E Noble, Director of PNPA, personally welcomed Senator Tolentino to the Academy, introducing him to the 4th Class Cadets belonging to the Silang-Paglaom Class of 2026.
Senator Tolentino shares his expertise in gained from his experiences in a very practical way, injecting them with provisions in Constitutional Law.
The subject matter will provide cadets the information on citizen’s basic rights, as well as the policies, roles and duties of the Philippine government relative to them.
During the first meet-up with Senator Tolentino, a course syllabus was introduced, same to be divided intro three parts for the whole semester, for them to easily comprehend the essence of Constitutional Law, its significance and principles, and how it affects and influences law enforcement.
The presence of one of the academic achievers in the Philippines, who later was elected Senator, will be a great help to inspire cadets to pursue their dreams and be good leaders with integrity and vision.
A Senator who “walks the talk,” the invitation to be part of PNPA is one of countless steps to develop the abilities and talents of cadets while in the camp, in preparation for their journey in their chosen profession.
