In terms of special projects and initiatives, the Police Regional Office 12 never lags behind. Take for instance its recently concluded Film Festival. This became an avenue for the youth to showcase their talents and skills in making short films, and maximize their potentials and exposure to the community. More than these, the youth are properly guided to be good and law-abiding citizens and role models.
PRO 12 persists in taking the lead in keeping the vulnerable ones on the right track; serving as channels of hope to those who need support; and always being ready to provide aid to the ones who are lost and blinded by the harsh realities of life. The Film Fest was realized in partnership with the Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges Documentary Film Festival (RDFF).
Opened were two categories: The In-School Youth with five entries, to wit; Ang Pangarap ni Ronie Mampurok, SABAT, KALIMA, GANTI and Panata ng Makabayan; and the Out-of-School Youth with three entries; the Zone 3 Boys, Kalye Langit, and Pangandoy.

In a video message of Vice President, Sara Duterte delivered on-line, to wit: “I commend this creative endeavor to put the story telling power in the hands of in- and-out-of-school-youth, showcasing the role of film and inspiring new talents, as well as promoting the dialogue around peace and security in the region involving terror groups such as the new people’s army and violent extremists. Through these fresh and compelling films, we are given a new lens through which we can empathize with how our youth ae affected by the threat of recruitment and radicalization.
By doing so, we raise awareness among our vulnerable communities and encourage preventive actions. As we continue to strengthen national security, the youth are in an advantageous position to promote a culture of lawfulness and vigilance among their peers, and to counter violent extremism by harnessing their creativity, idealism, and patriotic contributions to our nation”.
