Baguio’s Finest Cop is now being praised in social media for going beyond his law enforcement mandate as he captured the hearts of netizens for helping an elderly woman on May 11, 2023.
He is Patrolman Ashril Ladiong Cami-ing of Class 2020-03, a native of Lubon, Tadian, Mountain Province and currently assigned at Baguio City Police Office-Traffic Enforcement Unit.
On the facebook post of Dr. Jovelyn Tarnate Balantin captioned, “Captured this kind-hearted policeman who patiently assisted and carried the bag of an elderly woman early this morning at the public market, from the intersection fronting the old Tiongsan Bazaar up to the jeepney terminal. If there is someone who deserves recognition, it is this very caring law enforcer. Good job, Sir! Mabuhay ang mga police baguio!” This very statement reached thousands and reaped reactions which went viral, flooding it with an almost similar number of positive comments.
According to Dr. Jovelyn Balantin, she was on her way to their office when she passed by the area. Traffic was heavy that time, so she had the chance to take photos of Pat Comi-ing up to the moment he took the elderly woman for a ride home.
“I was managing the traffic jam at the public market area when I saw an elderly woman who seemed to be struggling carrying her bag. I immediately assisted her going to the jeepney terminal where she took a ride home”, Pat Cami-ing said.
Philippine National Police has plenty of good stories to tell, the little assistances they render beyond their call of duty, wherein similar good deeds of Pat Cami-ing become another proofs that PNP never runs out of good men and women bent in doing good deeds for their fellowmen even if it is no longer part of their mandate.
