PNP promotes 33,143 personnel in a nationwide oath-taking ceremony

On February 6, 2025, the Philippine National Police (PNP) held a simultaneous oath-taking, pinning, and donning of ranks for newly promoted 2nd Level Uniformed Personnel at the PNP Transformation Oval in Camp Rafael T Crame. This event was part of the PNP’s regular promotion cycle for Calendar Year 2024, recognizing the dedication and exemplary service of personnel who had shown outstanding commitment to law enforcement.

A total of 33,143 police personnel nationwide were promoted to higher ranks. Among them, 505 officers were elevated from Police Captain to Police Major; 916 from Police Lieutenant to Police Captain; and 810 from Police Executive Master Sergeant to Police Lieutenant. Additionally, 3,189 personnel advanced from Police Chief Master Sergeant to Police Executive Master Sergeant; 3,359 from Police Senior Master Sergeant (to Police Chief Master Sergeant; 4,876 from Police Master Sergeant to Police Senior Master Sergeant; 9,712 from Police Staff Sergeant to Police Master Sergeant; 2,987 from Police Corporal to Police Staff Sergeant; and 6,789 from Patrolman to Police Corporal.

At Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, a total number of 1,564 police personnel took their oath of office before the Chief PNP, Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil. The Crame-based promotees had included 251 personnel from the National Headquarters, two from the Area Police Command, 16 from the Internal Affairs Service, 910 from the National Support Units – Line, and 385 from the National Support Units – Technical. Meanwhile, respective Regional and Provincial Directors also had administered the oath to their promoted personnel across various police units nationwide.

In his message, PGen Marbil emphasized that the promotion symbolizes more than just additional ranks and insignia. “This promotion is not just about adding stripes or stars to your uniform; it is a testament to your dedication, hard work, and commitment to the noble service of law enforcement. It signifies the trust and confidence that PNP places in you to carry greater responsibilities and meet the ever-evolving challenges of maintaining peace and order,” CPNP said.

He also reminded the newly-promoted personnel that higher ranks come with greater responsibility, accountability, and expectations. “Every position demands competence, integrity, and selfless dedication. Let this promotion inspire you to uphold the highest standards of responsible policing and serve as role models for those who will follow in your footsteps,” PGen Marbil added.

PGen Marbil further underscored the expectations that come with their new ranks, urging them to work harder, act with greater decisiveness, and uphold the PNP’s core values of Service, Honor, and Justice. “The Filipino people rely on us to be guardians of peace, defenders of justice, and enforcers of the law. Let us make them proud. Let us strengthen public trust in PNP and prove our unwavering commitment to ensuring a safe and secure nation.”
