Sustained PNP Operations Against Illegal Drugs Destroy Over Php234 Million Worth of Marijuana

The Philippine National Police (PNP), through the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR), continues to intensify its campaign against illegal drugs, destroying more than Php234 Million worth of marijuana from May 18 to 24, 2026. This weeklong enforcement drive underscores the organization’s continuing efforts to dismantle marijuana cultivation networks in highland and remote areas.

According to reports, a total of 11 marijuana eradication operations were successfully carried out across the provinces of Kalinga and Benguet. These coordinated police actions led to the destruction of approximately 1,140,000 fully grown marijuana plants, with a Standard Drug Price amounting to Php234,210,800.

The PNP emphasized that these accomplishments reflect its sustained operational focus under the Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which prioritizes intelligence-based policing, inter-agency coordination, and community support. The campaign also aligns with the government’s broader peace and order initiatives aimed at strengthening public safety and curbing illegal drug activities nationwide.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. commended the operating units for their persistence and dedication in conducting operations in rugged terrain, highlighting both the operational risks and the strategic importance. He emphasized the police force’s continued commitment to suppressing illegal drug cultivation and protecting communities, particularly the youth, from its harmful effects.

“Hindi tayo titigil sa tuloy-tuloy na operasyon laban sa iligal na droga. Ang mahalaga rito ay napipigilan natin ang pagkalat ng marijuana at napoprotektahan natin ang ating mga komunidad, lalo na ang kabataan. These sustained operations show our firm commitment to public safety and lawful police action,” he said.

The PNP reiterated that nationwide anti-illegal drug operations will continue through strengthened intelligence efforts, community engagement, and sustained field operations as part of its long-term strategy to reduce drug supply sources and maintain peace and order toward a Bagong Pilipinas.
