Amidst the tapestry of courage and compassion, the limelight illuminates extraordinary women of the Philippine National Police (PNP) this year’s celebration of Mother’s Day. Considered as beacons of hope of resilience within their families and communities, these mothers personify hope from birthing a child, consciously determined to be bent in their roles, first and foremost as mothers and bedrocks.
Every year, Mother’s Day is a deeply meaningful occasion that serves as a sober reminder of the priceless influence moms have on our lives. This day is a holy homage to a strong bond characterized by selfless love, steadfast support and infinite sacrifices that mothers make every day, despite its commercial trappings. Let us take a moment to acknowledge the immense influence that mother wisdom, care, and devotion have had in every step of our personal journey.
On the other hand, a touching tribute to the mothers of the Provincial Headquarters in Misamis Occidental, resonating with the theme “Serbisyong Ina, sa PNP Mahalaga,” which unfolded amidst heartfelt gatherings. The occasion, graced by PCol Dwight D. Monato, Acting Provincial Director of the Misamis Occidental Police Provincial Office, was led by the Provincial Community Affairs and Development Unit. In attendance were PNP personnel, both uniformed and non-uniformed, who are mothers, alongside the esteemed presence of Ms. Lorelie U. Cagas, Provincial Gender and Development Officer, serving as the distinguished Guest of Honor and Speaker.
The event was in many ways anticipated, focusing the limelight to all mothers of PHQ, MOCPPO, spiced by the unexpected messages from cherished children for our esteemed PNP Mother-Officers. Further enhancing the affair was a range of services generously provided by our stakeholders and members of the Advocacy Support Groups. These included indulgent treats such as Manicure and Pedicure, soothing Reflexology Massage courtesy of Ms. Vilma A Cabales; Haircuts, complementary Ice cream, as well as essential health services like Random Blood Sugar Testing, Blood Pressure Monitoring and HPV Vaccination which was facilitated by RDMU 10.
Mother’s Day in PNP is an expression of tenacity of extraordinary women with the organization who face challenges of their jobs head-on with dignity and resolve. These women serve as inspirational lights, proving that bravery and compassion are not antagonistic qualities but rather are characteristics interwoven within the complexities of PNP mother-policewomen to build a more caring and safe society. Their unsaid and frequently unnoticed sacrifices serve as the foundation for the well-being of their families and communities, leaving a legacy of compassion and honesty is worth emulating.
At its core, Mother’s Day transcends mere sentimentality. The profound bonds that tie families together are the legacies of their maternal influence, an opportunity to express gratitude for the countless moments of tenderness, strength, and wisdom that mothers impart, indeed, shaping childrens’ character and nurturing their dreams.
Thus, beyond the badge, the balance between the demands of their profession with the tender responsibilities of motherhood embodies resilience in the face of adversity. Expressing heartfelt gratitude for the immeasurable contributions of mothers, we commemorate this special day, for their special love, wisdom, and boundless compassion.
