CPNP Marbil honored with prestigious First-Class Police Force Bravery Award by Royal Malaysia Police

Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, Chief of the Philippine National Police, was recently honored with the First-Class Police Force Bravery Award, known as the Panglima Gagah Pasukan Polis (PGPP), by His Majesty Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-Pertuan Agong XVII Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Sultan Iskandar, the King of Malaysia. This distinguished award from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) recognizes Gen. Marbil’s outstanding contributions to strengthening security cooperation between the Philippines and Malaysia.

The PGPP award, conferred by the Malaysian monarch on October 30, 2024, in Kuala Lumpur, recognizes extraordinary bravery, leadership, and service in law enforcement. Reserved for individuals who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to national security, the award is granted to distinguished members of the Royal Malaysia Police and select foreign officials involved in collaborative efforts to counter transnational crimes such as terrorism, human trafficking, and organized crime.

Gen. Marbil was commended for his effective leadership in the Philippine National Police, particularly, his contributions to crime prevention and cross-border security initiatives which have bolstered cooperation between the Philippines and Malaysia.
