The Police Regional Office (PRO)13 received new equipment and mobility assets that were turned over to the recipient units during the traditional flag-raising ceremony on September 9, 2024.
Police Brigadier General Alan M. Nazarro, the Regional Director of PRO13, spearheaded the ceremony alongside other members of the command group, with Police Major Lorenzo R. Ruga, the Regional Pastoral Officer, who conducted the blessing.
Also present were the Local Chief Executives from the municipalities receiving the units. Other attendees were Hon. Jimmy L. Beray, Mayor of Tubay; Hon. Glenn G. Batiancila, Mayor of Cagwait; and Hon. Renato A. Calañas, a member of the Sangguniang Bayan of Carmen, Surigao del Sur, and the Chiefs of Police from the respective Municipal Police Stations (MPS).
The new operational equipment were three units of Patrol Jeeps Single Cab, eight units of Light Motorcycle 150cc, and eight units of Galil Ace 22 Basic Assault Rifles issued to Esperanza MPS, Del Carmen MPS, San Francisco MPS, Sta. Monica MPS, Tubod MPS, Cortes MPS, Lanuza MPS, Carmen MPS, Tubay MPS, and Cagwait MPS.
Furthermore, three units of light transport vehicles were assigned separately to the offices of the Deputy Regional Director for Operations and Administration, as well as to the office of the Chief of the Regional Staff.
“These resources will be pivotal in our operations, and beyond their practical utility, solid testaments to the unwavering support from our government and the public. Rest assured that with the upgrade of our resources, we will continue enhancing public safety and ensure speedy response time to any eventualities while maintaining the peace and order of the region,” RD Nazarro said.
Under the Capability Enhancement Program (CEP) of the General Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2024, these equipment and mobility assets were procured for the additional operational capability of PRO13.
