Government’s Commitment to Supporting the Police Force, manifested in Oriental Mindoro

What encompasses effective law enforcement?

Power alone is unlikely to achieve its mission. Henceforth, supporting forces from various counterparts become a must to serve as the underlying influence for a paramount positive outcome. Through the unswerving assistance of the provincial government of Oriental Mindoro, this partnership towards a highly proactive development was realized.

On April 4, 2024, the Oriental Mindoro Police Provincial Office under the leadership of PCol Samuel S. Delorino, Provincial Director, together with the Provincial Government through Gov. Humerlito “Bonz” Dolor, Vice Governor Ejay Falcon and Hon. Aristeo A. Baldos, Jr., Municipal Mayor of Pinamalayan, spearheaded the groundbreaking of a Multi-Purpose Building coupled with the ceremonial turn-over of 18 motorcycle units to various PNP units in the province held at the OrMin PPO Covered Court in Barangay Cacawan, Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro.

The multi-purpose building, estimated to cost Php 1.5 million and funded by the provincial government, will serve as the PPO Day Care Learning Center, providing a safe and nurturing learning environment for PNP personnel’s children while their parents perform their police duties. The said learning center is also open to the children of the said Barangay, including other surrounding barangays. The province’s City/Municipal Police Stations, Provincial Mobile Force Companies, and Provincial Tourist Police were the recipients of the 18 motorcycles aimed to increase police personnels’ mobility and operational capabilities, allowing them shorter response times and more efficient patrolling.

Apart from this, Governor Dolor, expressing his gratitude for the unwavering efforts of PNP in maintaining peace and order, handed over the financial assistance to PRO MIMAROPA which was received by PBGen Martin E. Defensor Jr., DRDA, and Oriental Mindoro PPO, to be utilized by the organization in line with the training of PNP personnel to be more efficient in their roles and responsibilities. Dolor reassured that the provincial government’s commitment in supporting PNP in their future endeavors is imperishable.

“There will never be genuine progress without peace. Peace is not just about eliminating states’ enemies, peace is about maintaining harmony among our citizens. Today, ang panawagan natin sa kapulisan ay taga-prevent ng criminality.” said Gov. Dolor.

Beyond doubt, this event is a manifestation of effective law enforcement, demonstrating an equally significant role and responsibility of the government and the organization. Truly, working as one will enhance community welfare and law enforcement proficiencies for a new and reformed country.
