In a significant achievement in the ongoing fight against illegal drugs, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), under the able leadership of Police Brigadier General (PBGen) Anthony A. Aberin, had successfully scored apprehending two high-profile drug personalities and seizing a total of 1,300 grams of shabu valued at Php8,840,000.00. The operation was conducted on the afternoon of February 19, 2025, in a condominium located in Barangay San Antonio, Makati City.
The operation, which was a result of meticulous intelligence gathering and collaboration between NCRPO and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), led to the arrest of the suspects after an undercover officer had purchased a vacuum-sealed foil pack labeled as freeze-dried durian, but containing the illegal drug.
A follow-up search of the suspects’ condominium unit had revealed additional evidences, including a transparent plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance, a plastic pack, a mobile phone, a black and red shoe bag, an eco-bag, Php1,000 in genuine cash, and 499 pieces of Php1,000 boodle money.

PBGen Aberin had praised the efforts of the Makati City Police Station (CPS) under the command of PCol Jean Ibarra Dela Torre, Officer-in-Charge, and the officers for their professionalism and thorough execution of the operation, which he described as a critical strike against the illegal drug trade in Makati and its surrounding areas.
“This successful operation hits the core of the drug supply chain in our community. I commend our operatives for their persistence and dedication. This milestone underscores the importance of continuing our aggressive, community-based campaign against illegal drugs,” said PBGen Aberin.
The arrested suspects, whose identities are being withheld pending investigation, are currently in police custody and are facing charges under Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Section 5 pertains to the sale, trade, and distribution of illegal drugs, while Section 11 addresses the possession of illegal substances. The suspects face severe penalties should they be convicted.

NCRPO and PDEA reaffirm their commitment to intensifying their anti-drug efforts, working closely with local communities in order to dismantle illegal drug syndicates and reduce the prevalence of drugs in the region.
The NCRPO’s aggressive and data-driven approach to combatting illegal drugs continues to yield positive results, ensuring a safer environment for residents in Metro Manila.
