NCRPO’s Efforts to suppress Illegal Drugs in Metro Manila

Due to the rampant sale of illegal drugs in the country, many innocent people become victims of this harmful trade. Therefore, the National Capital Region Police Office is committed to suppressing and arresting illegal drug syndicates.

The National Capital Region Police Office Regional Director, PMGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. commended the operatives of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU), NCRPO for the successful capture of two High-Value Individuals (HVI) in an anti-illegal drugs operation that resulted in the confiscation of a large amount of shabu on May 8, 2024.

The suspects were identified as Fahad Esmail y Mellado, male, 24 years old; and Jay Salboro y Bautista, male, 21 years old. The buy-bust operation occurred at 8:40 in the evening along Magsaysay Extension near the corner of Maguindanao Street, Barangay New Lower Bicutan in Taguig City, resulting in the apprehension of the suspects.

Approximately 250 grams of shabu along with the buy-bust money used in the operation, a J&T plastic, and a brown paper bag, were confiscated from the suspect’s possession and control.

 The apprehended suspects and seized evidences were taken to the RDEU Office for documentation and proper disposition. A corresponding complaint will be filed for violation of R.A. 9165, also known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,” at the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office against the two suspects.

The entire police force of NCRPO confiscated 1,760 grams of shabu and 7,017 grams of marijuana in the early part of May. Additionally, 239 drug operations were recorded, resulting in the arrest of 366 drug personalities.

 “Our proactive and unyielding approach to fighting against illegal drugs in the Metro remains steadfast. We are committed to the relentless pursuit and capture of sellers and sources in order to eradicate drugs completely in our region,” said PMGen Nartatez Jr.
