PNP Chief’s Message for Year 2025

A Call to Service and Integrity

During the first Monday Flag Raising Ceremony of the year, held on January 6, 2025, at Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame in Quezon City, the Chief of the Philippine National Police, Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, delivered an inspiring message to the nation’s peacekeepers. He emphasized the opportunities the new year brings to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the Filipino people while setting the tone for the PNP’s aspirations and challenges in 2025.

The Chief began by expressing his heartfelt gratitude to the entire PNP organization for their dedication and service in the past months, especially during the recent Christmas and New Year celebrations. He had acknowledged their hard work in ensuring safe and peaceful holidays for the Filipino people.

“Across every street and community, the presence of the police was felt not only as law enforcers but as protectors of peace and order. This is the image we want to uphold—a police force that is not only reliable but, most importantly, respected by the people,” he had remarked.

As the nation embarks on a new year, PGen Marbil highlighted the PNP’s aspiration to regain and strengthen the public’s respect for the police force. He emphasized that this respect should be rooted not in fear but in trust and pride.

“When people look up to us with confidence and admiration, it gives us a profound sense of fulfillment and pride as public servants. This is something we must preserve and nurture in our service,” he added.

PGen Marbil had acknowledged the significant challenges ahead, particularly the upcoming National and Local Elections in 2025. Ensuring peace and order during this critical period is no easy task, and he urged all police personnel to remain steadfast in their sworn duties.

“I urge you to act fairly and uphold our dignity as law enforcers,” he said, underscoring the importance of maintaining neutrality and integrity during the electoral process.

The PNP Chief had also emphasized that the dignity of police officers is one of their most valuable assets. He reminded everyone that this dignity must be protected at all costs, as it forms the very foundation of the public’s trust in the PNP organization.

“Let us not allow anyone to take it from us, for no one has the right to do so. We must protect our integrity and never allow it to be compromised by temptations or undue influence,” said PGen Marbil.

Looking ahead, Police General Marbil called on the entire police force to strive for excellence in public service, work together in unity, and remain committed to the vision of a Bagong Pilipinas where every police officer stands as a symbol of hope, peace, and justice.

“As we face the challenges of the new year, let us do so with courage, compassion, and solidarity,” he concluded.

With these words, PGen Marbil has set the tone for 2025—a year where opportunities to do good fill every policeman’s cup, and where challenges have to be met head on. The promise of a police force committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and service must be focused on fostering trust and pride among the Filipino people they have sworn to serve and protect.
