PNP Showcased Disaster Response Capability

Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, the Chief, Philippine National Police, personally led in this year’s Simultaneous Showdown Inspection of the PNP Disaster Response Equipment Capabilities at Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame in Quezon City on May 28, 2024.

As the country braces for the rainy season, the PNP Chief has ordered the entire ranks to prepare all of its disaster capabilities, instructing all personnel to be ready for whatever calamities ahead. The physical inspection formally started with an invocation led by Police Brigadier General Jason D. Ortizo, Director, Chaplain Service, followed by the actual inspection of the PNP Chief, assisted by the PNP Command Group, The Director, Directorate for Police Community Relations (TDPCR); The Director, Directorate for Logistics (TDL); and The Director, Directorate for Operations (TDO).

Said activity aims to inspect and evaluate all disaster response capability of the Nation’s Peacekeeper, especially during unprecedented situations whenever disaster strikes nationwide. It also aims to equip all PNP personnel to be effective and efficient whenever calamities happen.

PGen Marbil delivered a heartwarming message for the troops performing SRR activities and commended their courage and bravery. He also reiterated the importance for all police offices and units to being alert and always ready, especially when people’s lives are at stake.

During the inspection, the different Units and Offices from the National Headquarters displayed their equipment such as power generator, power tools, hand held radios, among others. Included also in the showdown were the rubber boats, fire trucks, ambulance and trucks used in responding various disaster incidents. Personnel with SRR trainings and seminars were also present on the said activity. Same inspection was also conducted in the different Police Regional Offices all over the country.
