Policemen’s Good Deeds Shine in Returning Large Sum to Israeli Nationals

In a shining example of integrity and honesty, personnel of Puerto Princesa City Tourist Police Office made exceptional deeds to two Israeli nationals, identified as Ms. Shira Mazal Illiach and Mr. Barak Brullemas, married and both residents of Ra’anana Haetzel, 29, Israel, who recently spent their vacation at Puerto Princesa City. PMSg Nurima W. Gubat, duty TAD PNCO, received a phone call at about 3:35 AM on September 23, 2024, reporting an allegedly lost sum of Php80,000 after a stay at the Kamalay pension house located at Sitio Sabang, Barangay Cabayugan in Puerto Princesa City. Said foreign nationals, filled with hope and trust in the police, reported after having discovered their money and belongings were lost upon touching down at the Manila International Airport.

Having relayed the information, police officers from the Sabang Tourist Assistance Center (TAC), led by PSMS Alexander G. Carillo, together with PSSg Gil P. Saclet, Pat Abegail A. Garcia, Pat Russel S. Rocha, and Pat John Ernie L. Gomez, immediately responded and coordinated with the caretaker of the penthouse, named Ms. Amanda A. Baldera, sharing the details of the stay of the aforementioned foreign nationals. The Sabang TAC personnel searched the room and found a transparent plastic pouch under the bed with their personal identification cards. Upon examination, the pouch revealed to contain cash with a total of Php80,000, validating the guests’ report.

Completing the necessary action of returning the recovered items to the guests, the police officers ensured its security throughout the process, and made sure that they delivered services in the most convenient way, whether for locals or foreign nationals. Their meticulous handling of the situation and commitment to ensuring that the items were returned intact, left a lasting impression to the foreign guests. The act evidently showed the transparency and accountability of the officers who made the return of the items possible.

For the two Israeli Nationals, their vacation and experience in the city, which could have been overshadowed by the misfortunate occurrence, was marked with kindness and professionalism, accorded no less by law enforcers.
