PROJECT K.L.A.S.E: Empowering Bulacan’s Youth through Education

In a nation where the youth are regarded as the torchbearers of the future, initiatives that nurture their potentials and instill values are invaluable. Recognizing this, the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office (PPO), under the leadership of PLtCol Reyson M. Bagain, launched Project K.L.A.S.E (Kapulisan na may Layong Alalayan ang Siguridad at Edukasyon ng bawat Kabataan) last year, on June 27, 2023. This project stands as a testament to the commitment of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to ensure the safety of communities and actively contribute to the education and well-being of the youth.

The inaugural event of Project K.L.A.S.E. was held in Barangay Pamarawan in Malolos, Bulacan, where the students of the said barangay were the first to experience the generosity and commitment of PNP. Since its inception, the project has become a monthly endeavor, with personnel from the 1st Bulacan PMFC distributing school supplies, toys, tumblers, and slippers to less than a hundred elementary students. Grocery packs, medicines and vitamins are given to around fifty residents each month. This continuous act of kindness has provided essential support and brought hope to many individuals in the community.

This year, on August 18, 2024, the latest outreach activity under Project K.L.A.S.E. extended its reach to Sitio Babangad, Barangay San Nicolas in Bulakan, Bulacan. Led by PCpt Marc Henry SJ Gonzales, Platoon Leader, and under the supervision of PLtCol Bagain, the team distributed school supplies, books, and toys to elementary students; and food packs to residents. The event was not merely an act of giving but also an opportunity to foster values and patriotism among the youth.

The objectives of Project K.L.A.S.E are far-reaching. It aims to strengthen the partnership between PNP and the community, promoting peace and progress through shared efforts. The project seeks to create a platform for educational collaboration between PNP and government agencies, such as the Department of Education and the Commission on Higher Education, focusing on the students’ overall welfare and their contributions to nation-building. The initiative also emphasizes the importance of instilling values and nationalism in the youth, as these are fundamental in shaping the Filipino way of life and are a testament to the resilience, compassion, and solidarity that defines the Filipino spirit.

The impact of Project K.L.A.S.E has been profound, touching the lives of hundreds of students and residents across various municipalities in Bulacan. With the continued support of PCol Satur L. Ediong, OIC of Bulacan PPO, and under the leadership of PBGen Jose S. Hidalgo Jr., Regional Director of Police Regional Office 3, the project is set to reach even more students in the coming months.

The 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company of the Bulacan PPO, led by its Force Commander, encourages everyone to support this noble e7ndeavor. By increasing students’ awareness relative to the threats of insurgency and terrorism, and educating them on their inherent capacity and possibilities in nation-building, PNP is not only protecting the present but also securing a peaceful and prosperous future for the nation. The students and the youth are not just the recipients of these efforts but are also invaluable partners in promoting peace and progress in the Philippines.

Project K.L.A.S.E, indeed, is a movement: A mission and a manifestation of the PNP’s dedication towards a Bagong Pilipinas!
