RPCADU 4A Joins the 2-day Workshop on Crafting Effective AVPs, Tarpaulins, Soccards and Messaging

In today’s fast-paced world, effective communication is crucial for building public trust and ensuring community safety. The Regional Police and Community Affairs and Development Units (RPCADUs) are essential in this regard, acting as vital links between the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the community. RPCADUs serve, therefore, as the regional operating arms, taking on the task of being the mouthpiece of the Police Community Affairs and Development Group (PCADG) in the performance of its mandate, the particular NOSU in charge of implementing programs relative to one of the four elements of the Quad System in Philippine Policing. They ensure that police communications are clear and unequivocal, managing the messages sent to boost public relations and addressing concerns, fostering transparency.

On August 6 and 7, 2024, the RPCADU 4A personnel under the supervision of PCol Meldrid E. Patam, Chief, joined in the two-day workshop hosted by the Police Regional Office 4A to improve R-Staff personnel’s skills in creating Audio-Visual Presentations (AVPs), tarpaulins, social media cards and messaging or the creation of proper messages. Said workshop was organized by the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division 4A led by PCol Ivy C. Mallo, focused on enhancing participants’ abilities to communicate effectively.

The first day was dedicated for proper preparations in writing narratives and tutorials for AVP scriptwriting. Participants were taught with the how’s and why’s of developing effective messages, as well as on how to structure their respective contents to attract and engage the audience. The training allowed them to enhance their skills through constructive criticisms and feedbacks, honing their ability to craft much better AVPs.

On the second day, the focus shifted to crafting messages using tarpaulins and soccards through the Adobe Photoshop. Participants engaged in hands-on exercises, designing materials that were visually impactful and informative. They presented their work for evaluation and received appropriate comments to enhance their outputs.

The workshop was pivotal in advancing the communication capabilities of R-Staff personnel, offering them essential skills for crafting impactful scripts and designing effective visual contents. By focusing on hands-on training, participants learned to produce messages that resonate with the public. This reinforces public trust, and ensures that the police force maintains a positive and credible image.

Through this endeavor, RPCADU personnel significantly helped the local police offices to effectively gain and maintain public trust, by providing them technical assistance particularly in information operations campaign and other PCR specialized activities. Effective public communication as well as information dissemination has always been important in whatever organization, especially in creating positive public perception. Thus, RPCADU4A strives to aid the Police Regional Office 4A in providing essential strategies and approaches that will equip every local police office in addressing misinformation and in reinforcing the police’s reputation and effectiveness.
