“There’s nothing more powerful than a bond with your family, built on love and trust.” – Unknown
The Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) led by Police Brigadier General Lou F. Evangelista, Regional Director, exemplified its commitment by hosting an impactful PNP Family Day on July 31, 2024, coinciding with the culmination of the 30th Police Community Relations (PCR) Month Celebration at Camp Oscar M Florendo in Parian, City of San Fernando, La Union.
The event featured various services from the Philippine National Police, including free medical and dental services, legal consultations, and updating of records of retired police officers. There were also fun activities for the children and relaxation opportunities for the police officers’ wives, such as free cake decorating, beauty and wellness services, and an entertaining magic show. PRO1 also prepared delicious food for everyone, which delighted the police officers’ children.
The PNP Family Day aligns with the directive of PGen Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, Chief PNP, which aims to prioritize activities for families of PNP uniformed personnel as part of the broader mission of Police Community Relations.
The PNP Family Day also centered around the Police Service Caravan which included participation of various national government agencies such as DOLE/PESO La Union, the Department of Agriculture, the Philippine Statistics Agency, the Commission on Population and Development, and TESDA.
โAng PNP Family Day ay isang pagkakataon na makapagpahinga sandali at makasama ang mga taong importante sa atin. Ito din ay pagkakataon upang mas mapalalim pa natin ang ating samahan bilang isang PRO1 family.โ PBGen Evangelista said.
This yearโs Family Day for PRO1 was more than just a celebration. It was a reaffirmation of the importance of family ties and community connections. The event brought together members of the police and their families, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and appreciation for the sacrifices made by those in uniform. With a variety of activities designed to engage all ages, families enjoyed games, performances, and a heartfelt program were all participated in, emphasizing the significance of unity and support within the community, starting from where charity must begin, from the families of those who serve and protect.
The dedication of PRO1 to family welfare highlights the essential role they play in maintaining peace and order, and in nurturing community bonds. By celebrating PNP Family Day, PRO1 demonstrates that being part of the police force extends beyond duty, to a crucial network of officers and their families.
In a world where connections are often tested, PRO1’s Family Day stands as a testament to the belief that a strong family foundation is a key to a healthy society.
