In line with the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) campaign for a peaceful, orderly, and safe conduct of the upcoming May 2025 elections, the Eastern Police District (EPD), under the leadership of Acting District Director Police Colonel Villamor Q. Tuliao spearheaded the Solidarity Pact Signing for the 2025 National and Local Elections (NLE) and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Parliamentary Election (BARMM PE). The event was held on February 13, 2025 at the EPD Multi-Purpose Hall, Caruncho Ave. in Brgy. Malinao, Pasig City.

The event was graced by Atty. Felton C. Sadang, Chairman of the District Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Council (DJPSCC) as the Guest of Honor and Speaker, alongside Acting Regional Director of NCRPO PBGen Anthony A. Aberin. Both officials had emphasized the significance of the solidarity pact in fostering unity among all stakeholders to ensure a fair, credible, and peaceful electoral process in the Metro East. Among the key agencies and organizations that participated in the event were the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), National Citizens’ Movement for Free Elections (NAMFREL), and the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV).

The activity commenced with an interfaith prayer led by religious leaders, followed by a solemn oath-taking by all participants as a testament to their commitment to the cause. The highlight of the event was the historic signing of the Solidarity Pact, symbolizing the unwavering dedication of various government agencies and stakeholders to upholding peace and order preparatory to and during the 2025 elections.

This pact had reaffirmed their pledge to intensify efforts against election-related offenses, particularly vote-buying and vote-selling to ensure clean, honest, and transparent elections.
In his message, Atty. Sadang reminded all attendees to adhere strictly to the guidelines set by COMELEC, and uphold integrity in their respective roles to strengthen public trust in the electoral process. He also discussed COMELEC’s recent innovations to streamline voting procedures, particularly for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), senior citizens, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and pregnant women.

Acting Regional Director, NCRPO PBGen Aberin had reiterated the commitment of the regional office’s personnel to ensuring public safety throughout the National Capital Region (NCR), emphasizing his leadership mantra, “AAA” which stands for “Able, Active, and Allied”— highlighting the role of the police in safeguarding the community.

EPD Acting District Director PCol Tuliao had assured that his team would maintain a round-the-clock security in the Metro East to prevent any attempts to disrupt the elections. “The Eastern Police District will ensure a peaceful and secure election in all cities under Metro East. Our police force will conduct 24/7 patrols and road security to prevent any untoward incidents before, during, and after the elections,” he stated.

“We will further intensify police presence, establish checkpoints, and strictly enforce the gun ban to deter any threats of violence in the upcoming elections,” PCol Tuliao added.
With this collective commitment, Team EPD, alongside its partners, remains steadfast in its mission to uphold democracy and ensure a safe and credible electoral process in Metro East.
