Balik Akademya 2025
On March 15, 2025, the Lakan Community across the country had gathered once again on the grounds of Camp General Mariano N. Castañeda in Silang, Cavite to take part in the 45th Grand Alumni Homecoming of the Philippine National Police Academy. Said annual homecoming with the theme: “Nagkakaisang Lakan: Haligi ng Malaya at Maunlad na Bayan” brought together hundreds of PNPA Alumni back to their alma mater to reminisce their cadet days, where their public servants’ journey had started.

The Secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Honorable Juanito Victor C. Remulla, attended the celebration where he served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker, accompanied by other senior government officials, including Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, the Chief of the Philippine National Police. Among the highlights of the said activity were the wreath-laying ceremony for the fallen comrades, followed by a ceremonial parade showcasing the esteemed traditions of the Academy and a fellowship gathering which reinforced the enduring bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood within and among the Lakan community.

Likewise, outstanding alumni were recognized for their exemplary contributions in their respective fields. Among the awardees for the Gawad Dakilang Lakan were Lakan Christopher C. Birung; Lakan Bowen Joey M. Masauding; Lakan Hilbert M. FLor; Lakan Paul Kenneth T. Lucas; Lakan Christine D. Cula; Lakan Manases G. Bautista; Lakan Stephen A. Requina; Lakan Maximo C. Sumeg-ang Jr.; Lakan Jynleo Y. Bautista; Lakan Josephus F. Alburo; Lakan Jayrex Joseph C. Bustinera; Lakan Cliff Richard T. Torres; Lakan Renante N. Arambuyong; and Lakan Edo B. Lobenia.

In the same occasion, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco pledged financial assistance to PNPA intended for the improvement of its facilities and to provide advanced trainings for its cadets. According to PAGCOR, the grant will cover the construction of the PNPA Alumni Association building to be used as an administrative office with a dormitory for visiting alumni, as well as the upgrade of the PNPA’s Crime Scene Plaza that is being used by cadets in their forensic and investigative trainings and procedures, among others.

On March 20, Chairman Tengco handed over a Patient Transport Vehicle (PTV) to PNPA as part of his Php300-M pledge during the PNPA Alumni Homecoming. Said new service vehicle was personally received by the Chairman of the PNPA Alumni Association Inc.(PNPAAI) who is also the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) Executive Director Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz.

The donated PTV is equipped with a GPS navigation system, an ambulance stretcher, medical oxygen, a wheelchair, and a first aid kit to provide immediate care during patient transport to the hospital. “This donation underscores PAGCOR’s dedication to support the law enforcement community by improving facilities that help combat crime and ensures the well-being of personnel and cadets,” said Tengco.
Police Colonel Marcial L. Fa-ed, the Chief of the Logistics Management Division of PNPA, said that the donated PTV will be assigned to the PNPA Dispensary.
