WCPC Officially Launches the “Project Aleng Pulis Everywhere”

PNP Commences the 2024 National Women’s Month Celebration

Coinciding with this year’s Opening of the National Women’s Month Celebration during the Traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony on March, 4, 2024, the PNP Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC) officially launched the “Project Aleng Pulis Everywhere” as a comprehensive program established nationwide to safeguard all women and children from all forms of violence in all parts of the country. The project was initially launched on September 4, 2023, with the primary objective of strengthening the Center in the performance of its mandate by ensuring the presence of women police personnel across the archipelago through active police operations, community engagements and proactive policing.


Through the Project Aleng Pulis Everywhere, WCPC under the leadership of its Chief, Police Brigadier General Portia B. Manalad, established a total of 2,026 Women and Children Protection Desks nationwide, with at least 6,311 designated personnel assigned in 160 Women and Children Protection Centers in NCR; 38 Field Units in Luzon (LFU); 26 Visayas Field Units (VFU); and 34 Mindanao Field Units (MFU).
Another highlight of the activity was the awarding of the ten PNP Juanas with significant and commendable accomplishments in their respective units where they are assigned. Among the notable recipients were: Police Major Rowena M. Jacosalem of the Directorate for Police Community Relations (DPCR); Police Major Rhoan Joy A. Cabusi of the Special Action Force (SAF); Police Captain Resel E. Guevarra of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO); Police Lieutenant Genevieve Keith S. Victorio of the Health Service (HS); Police Corporal Shela Musa Rosarito and Police Corporal Eden Joy T. Hernandez, both from NCRPO; Patrolwoman Geraldine G. Bumakkit and Patrolwoman Jelly A. Banawa, both from SAF; Non-Uniformed Personnel Janette S. Ordinario of the Police Regional Office 2 (PRO 2); and NUP Perlita P. Herminado of the Directorate for Police Community Relations (DPCR).


Also given recognition were select organizations and stakeholders who are Gender and Development advocates, including the British Embassy Manila; the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the U.S. Embassy Manila; Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU); Stairway Foundation Inc., and the PNP Officers’ Ladies Club.


Police General Benjamin Casuga Acorda Jr, Chief, Philippine National Police led in the celebration, together with Mrs. Myrna Javier Reyes, the Chairperson and President of Donate Philippines, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.


Mrs. Reyes extended her heartfelt congratulations to the awardees and commended PNP for launching pivotal projects such as the “Project Aleng Pulis Everywhere.” She also underscored the significance of women’s empowerment, encouraging all women within the ranks to contribute wholeheartedly and meaningfully to the organization.


The PNP Top Cop, in his welcome remarks, however, urged every personnel within the organization to religiously take their respective roles and responsibilities in the realization of this year’s theme: “Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patutunayan!”, emphasizing everybody’s commitment in creating a society where everyone, regardless of gender, has equal opportunities for success.


“Together, let us champion the capabilities of women in shaping a more just and equitable Philippines,” he added.
