PNP Secures Peaceful Assembly

Over 1.5 Million Join INC National Rally for Peace

The Philippine National Police (PNP) had effectively maintained security and public safety during the National Rally for Peace organized by the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila on January 13, 2025. This peaceful assembly, held from 8:30 AM to 5:25 PM, drew an estimated crowd of 1,580,000 INC members, as reported by the Manila Public Information Office.

The event had highlighted the INC’s commitment to peace, unity, and public welfare, reinforced by the thorough preparations of PNP and its partners. The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), under the leadership of Police Brigadier General Anthony A. Aberin, had implemented comprehensive safety measures, including designated entry and exit points, medical teams on standby, and a close working coordination with event organizers.

PBGen Aberin had conducted an aerial inspection of the vicinity during the event to closely monitor the peaceful assembly of INC members. He had also engaged directly with NCRPO personnel and key stakeholders to address critical security concerns in real time, underscoring the NCRPO’s proactive approach to maintaining peace and order during major public gatherings.

To reinforce safety in key areas, PBGen Aberin had personally supervised the deployment of officers, including personnel from Police Regional Offices 3 and 4A, the Special Action Force (SAF), and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion-NCRPO. A total of 5,500 PNP personnel were deployed for the event. Health stations and INC field hospitals provided care to 1,162 individuals throughout the event, ensuring participants’ well-being. The coordinated efforts of all stakeholders contributed to the event’s overall success and safety.

The peaceful, orderly and highly-organized exercise of the right to peaceably assemble is attributed to the stringent preparations jointly made by the leadership of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, PNP, LGU and other agencies of government. I thank every member of the security force deployed for their dedication and commitment to maintain peace and ensure public safety,” said PBGen Aberin.

The rally concluded without any untoward incident, with participants dispersing in an orderly manner. PNP had overseen the smooth dispersal process, ensuring that public safety measureshad  remained effective until the venue was cleared.

Similar rallies were held in 12 other major cities across the country, showcasing a nationwide commitment to unity and harmony.

PNP Chief, Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, commended the peaceful execution of the rally and the strong cooperation between the police force and participants, stating, “The successful and harmonious execution of the INC National Peace Rally exemplifies the power of collaboration and the shared commitment to maintaining peace in our communities. We are grateful for the cooperation of the Iglesia ni Cristo, our personnel, and the public. This event is a testament to what can be achieved when we work together for a peaceful and orderly society.”

PNP extends its gratitude to everyone involved in making this significant event a success. The rally serves as an example of how unity and cooperation can lead to a safe and harmonious exercise of constitutional rights.
