PNP’s Healing Garden: A Sanctuary for Holistic Recovery

The path to recovery is paved not only with medicine but also with nature and tranquility. Recognizing the holistic impact of a sanctuary, the Philippine National Police (PNP) marked another wellness milestone with the blessing of the newly established Healing Garden at the PNP General Hospital (PNPGH) on May 7, 2025 at Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame in Quezon City.

PNP Chief, Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil led in the ceremony, along with the PNP Command Group, top officials, and personnel of the PNP Health Service (PNP-HS).

In his message, PGen Marbil emphasized that the Healing Garden symbolizes peace, hope, and restoration. The serenity of the place can be an opportunity to step away from the clinical setting and reconnect with nature.

“This garden, small as it may seem to others, holds a big promise – the promise of peace, hope, and healing,” CPNP Marbil said.

The PNP Chief commended the PNP HS for going beyond conventional medical care, highlighting the importance of emotional and spiritual well-being in the recovery process. He encouraged health personnel to use this space to guide patients back to wellness—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

The Healing Garden provides a tranquil sanctuary for confined personnel and their loved ones, reinforcing PNP’s belief that true healing goes beyond medicine.

As a shared space, the garden also serves as a retreat for the hospital’s medical staff—many of whom are under pressure as they care for various patients, some have been injured or emotionally affected while performing their duties as nation’s peacemakers. A tranquil space to reflect, breathe, or take a brief respite can go a long way in preventing burnout and fostering emotional resilience among caregivers.

PGen Marbil reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to the health and well-being of its personnel as a foundation of a stronger, more reliable police force — “Mahusay, Matatag, at Maasahan na Kapulisan.
