PNP Chief Among Country’s Top-Rated Government Officials in Nationwide Governance Survey

The Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to gain public trust and confidence as its Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., emerged as one of the country’s top-rated government officials in the latest nationwide governance survey conducted by RPMD Foundation Inc.

According to the results of the “Boses ng Bayan” Index of Governance (IOG) Survey, conducted from April 1 to 8, 2026, among 5,000 respondents nationwide, PGen Nartatez earned a 78.8% IOG score, supported by a 78.5% trust rating and a 79.1% performance rating. The survey findings reflect the favorable public perception of the PNP’s continuing efforts to uphold peace and order, strengthen community relations, and enhance the delivery of police services nationwide.

During the traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held on June 1, 2026, at Camp BGen Rafael T Crame in Quezon City, the PNP Chief expressed his sincere gratitude to all members of the police force for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to public service. He acknowledged that the favorable trust and performance ratings attributed to him in the survey were the result of the collective efforts of the entire organization.

“I accept this recognition with humility because it reflects not the efforts of one person, but the collective hard work and sacrifices of every police officer and non-uniformed personnel across the country. Ang pagkilalang ito ay para sa buong organisasyon. Ito ay bunga ng inyong sipag, sakripisyo, at tapat na paglilingkod sa sambayanang Pilipino,” he said.

The survey results affirm the PNP’s ongoing efforts under its Focused Agenda, particularly in enhancing police operations and improving public service delivery through responsive, transparent, and people-centered policing. More importantly, the survey reinforces the organization’s commitment to continuously improving its services and fulfilling its mandate of ensuring safer communities and a more secure nation for all Filipinos.

Meanwhile, as the country transitions into June and prepares for the opening of the new school year, the PNP Chief directed all commanders nationwide to intensify preparations for Balik-Eskwela operations. He underscored the importance of increasing police visibility in and around schools, major roads, transport terminals, and other public areas to ensure the safety and security of students, teachers, parents, and commuters.

In anticipation of the rainy season, PGen Nartatez likewise instructed all units to strengthen disaster preparedness measures by ensuring the readiness of personnel, equipment, and contingency plans for possible emergencies and calamities.

As the organization continues to advance its reform initiatives and public service programs, the PNP Chief reminded all personnel to remain committed to their duties and responsibilities.

“Let us remain focused on our mission, steadfast in our duty, and united in our commitment to serve. Together, let us continue earning the trust of the Filipino people and building a Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman,” he concluded.
