PNP Seizes Over Php21 Million Worth of Suspected Shabu in Pasay and Ormoc Operations

The Philippine National Police (PNP) sustained its intensified campaign against illegal drugs following separate operations in Pasay City and Ormoc City that resulted in the confiscation of more than Php21 Million worth of suspected shabu.

In Pasay City, personnel of the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group intercepted an inbound parcel at the DHL Express Philippines Cargo Haus Building, Customs Bonded Warehouses, on July 8, 2026. The package, which arrived through an international shipment, contained approximately 2,102 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of Php14,293,600.

The parcel was reportedly shipped by a Cambodian national identified as the sender, while the shipment documents listed a consignee from Imus City, Cavite. The confiscated items are currently in the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Laboratory Service, National Headquarters in Quezon City, for proper documentation, examination, and disposition.

The following day, on July 9, police operatives in Ormoc City, Leyte, conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay South that led to the arrest of a suspect. The operation was carried out by the Ormoc City Police Station 1, the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 8, and the PDEA Regional Office 8. Recovered during the operation were approximately 1,029 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of Php6,997,200, along with the buy-bust money and other non-drug evidence.

Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, PNP, lauded the operating units and partner agencies for their continued cooperation in disrupting the illegal drug supply chain.

“Ang mahalaga po dito ay mapigilan natin ang pagpasok at pagkalat ng iligal na droga sa ating mga komunidad. Every successful operation means preventing more people, especially the youth, from being affected by this illegal activity,” he said.

These accomplishments reflect the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, through strengthened inter-agency coordination, intelligence-driven operations, and timely responses to threats to public safety.

The Nation’s Peacekeepers assure the public that they will continue to intensify anti-illegal drug operations through intelligence-driven law enforcement efforts, in close coordination with partner agencies, to protect communities from the harmful effects of illegal drugs.
