PCADG Celebrates Strong Partnerships in “Gabi ng Parangal at Pasasalamat”

This quote perfectly captures the essence of the Police Community Affairs and Development Group’s (PCADG) “Gabi ng Parangal at Pasasalamat,” held on October 11, 2024, at the Bulwagang Lapu-Lapu, Camp BGen Rafael T Crame in Quezon City. Under the leadership of Police Brigadier General Restituto B. Arcangel, PCADG Director, the event underscored the essential role of all of its stakeholders and institutional partners in strengthening the relationship between the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Filipino people.

It also highlighted the remarkable contributions of exceptional personnel and individuals to PCADG’s mission of promoting peace and order through active community engagement which have helped PNP reach significant achievements in its campaign to bring not only the nation’s peacekeepers but also the Philippine government closer to the public, fostering greater trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

Gracing the event as the Guest of Honor and Speaker was Mr. Philip Francisco U. Dy, Executive Vice President of Metrobank Foundation Inc., welcomed by PBGen Arcangel, and PCol Jonas T. Amparo, OIC, Ex-O, DPCR. PBGen Arcangel presented awards to deserving institutional partners and PCADG personnel who have shown exceptional dedication and support for PCADG’s programs and initiatives. The PCADG Command Group: Police Colonel Marvin Joe C. Saro, Acting Deputy Director for Administration; Police Colonel Joel T. Serrano, Acting Deputy Director for Operations; and Police Colonel Adonis B. Guzman, Acting Chief of Staff, also took part in the awarding ceremonies.

Among the notable awardees were Ms. Charity J. Frianeza, Station Manager of DZAG, Radyo Pilipinas; Mr. Rodel Ordillos and Dextress Taguiam, Chairman and President, respectively, of Cagayan Capitol Press Corps Inc.; Ms. Venus Yap, President of Leopoldo Salinas Celicious Medical Memorial Foundation Inc.; USec Joel Sy Egco; Mr. Noemie D. Bustamante, President of Kabayan Action Group; PLtCol John Sindac (Ret.), and Mr. Efren A. Rafanan, President of Citizen’s Information Assistance.

In addition to institutional partners and stakeholders, individuals and team awardees of PCADG, whose dedication and excellence have significantly contributed to the unit’s success and extraordinary performance over the past months, were likewise given the proper recognition.

In his speech, PBGen Arcangel expressed his gratitude and congratulations to the awardees, emphasizing the crucial role they played in supporting PNP through their commitment, particularly, during challenging times for the organization. “This Gabi ng Parangal at Pasasalamat, we departed from the traditional selection of awardees. You did not submit yourself for these awards; we chose you. Sa ating mga community support organizations, hindi nyo kami binitawan. Even in the lowest moments of PNP, nandyan po kayo. Your commitment and dedication never went unnoticed,” he said.

He further commended the dedication and passion of PCADG personnel, especially the awardees, who consistently go above and beyond in fulfilling their duties. “They perform their job without really being conscious of the time spent and effort, kung kailangan na hindi matulog, hindi matutulog yan. Hindi bumibitaw yan hanggat hindi natatapos yung trabaho,” he added.

Mr. Philip Francisco U. Dy, in his message, emphasized the importance of partnerships in achieving peace and order, stating, “Each partnership brings unique strengths that allow growth in ways that wouldn’t be realized if we only work within our own sectors. We honor the triumphs that each partnership has brought to the table… ang bawat isa ay mahalaga, at ang bawat isa ay may mahalagang ambag sa pagkamit ng pagpapanatili ng kapayapaan at kaayusan sa ating bayan.”

Metrobank Foundation, as an advocate of recognizing excellence, strives to support individuals and programs that bring positive transformation to the community. Dy concluded his speech by encouraging all awardees to continue their outstanding work and expressed hope that one day, some of them might be honored in the foundation’s prestigious Outstanding Filipinos program.

The evening of recognition serves as a motivation for all the awardees and PCADG personnel to continue their pursuit of excellence in their respective roles. Their dedication and partnerships with the community remain critical in achieving the PNP’s goals of maintaining peace and order, and public safety in the country. Through active collaboration and continued support from stakeholders, PNP continues to make strides in bringing the nation’s peacekeepers closer to the people they serve.

The Gabi ng Parangal at Pasasalamat is a testament to the strength of collective efforts in making a meaningful impact on Philippine society, demonstrating that community participation and sincere commitment are keys to the success of the nation’s law enforcement efforts towards a Bagong Pilipinas.
