A United Police Force committed towards developing a Culture of Excellence, Discipline and Patriotism

PNP joins the government’s Campaign of a Bagong Pilipinas

After taking office as the 17th President of the Republic of the Philippines, President Ferdinand “Bong Bong” Romualdez Marcos Jr. had officially launched the Bagong Pilipinas Campaign on July 3, 2023, through Memorandum Circular Number 24, signed by his Executive Secretary, Lucas P. Bersamin. Said campaign served as the current administration’s brand of governance and leadership which calls for deep and fundamental transformations in all sectors of society and government towards the attainment of comprehensive policy reforms and full economic recovery through a principled, accountable and dependable government that is reinforced by unified institutions of our society.

On January 28, 2024, a Kick Off Rally was meaningfully held at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila, with the President, himself, leading the momentous celebration. The rally marked the beginning of a nationwide campaign of transformation and progress that is to be adopted by every government agency to better serve the Filipino people. PBBM was warmly welcomed by an impressive attendance of 400,000 individuals from different walks of life, including those from various government agencies and other Local Government Units who positively responded to the nationwide call for unity and solidarity towards the government’s strides to implement an all-inclusive plan for economic and social transformation.
President Marcos urged all government officials, employees, and the entire citizens to rally around these principles, fostering a renewed perspective on what it means to be Filipino. “Government must lead by example, providing a blueprint that inspires hope and promises change,” he said.

PBBM likewise highlighted the pivotal role played by the law enforcement and emergency responders in the attainment of the Bagong Pilipinas objectives, stating: “Sa mga pulis at bumbero, tiyakin ninyo ang agarang pagresponde sa bawat tawag at sumbong.”

He also called for significant reduction in crime rates, emphasizing the collective effort required to create a safer nation. “Ang inyong sigasig ay susuklian natin ng suporta of ample resources to move, to communicate, and to solve the problem that we are faced with, including tools that prevent different kinds of stealing. When content of e-wallets is picked by cybercriminals, when their dirty hands reach our children through computer screens – we will boost the defenses of our people against criminalities. More than paying tribute to their resilience, we will provide them with resources,” added the President.
The PNP Top Cop, Police General Benjamin C. Acorda Jr., personally led the Nation’s Peacekeeper in heeding the government’s call for unity as the PNP organization took part in the successful kick off rally with a total of 3, 587 PNP personnel deployed within the vicinity to comprehensively ensure the safety and security of all participants. PNP frontline services were also provided through the Serbisyo Fair. Among the services offered were the Licenses to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) and the National Police Clearance, with the latter being provided free of charge to first-time job seekers.

Said kick off was graced by other distinguished government officials, including Vice President Sara Duterte who took a visit earlier in the day, former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Senator Jinggoy Estrada, Senator Bong Revilla, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, Executive Secretary Atty Lucas Bersamin, DILG Secretary Atty Benjamin C Abalos Jr, Manila Mayor Maria Sheilah Honrado “Honey” Lacuna–Pangan, and First Lady Marie Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos.

However, prior to the said kick off, PNP already spearheaded a Pre-Launching Activity of the Bagong Pilipinas Campaign in front of the PNP National Headquarters in Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City on January 24, 2024. This was attended by the Retired Director General Ricardo F. De Leon, Ph.D., Chairperson of the National Advisory Group on Transformational Police Development (NAGTPD), along with other high-ranking PNP officers.

During the said pre-launching, PGen Acorda encouraged all the PNP ranks to collectively join the government in its transformational campaign to achieve the goals and aspirations of every Filipino.
“I am calling on every PNP member right now, please let us stand united always, always! And let us hate any attempt na mag-hiwa-hiwalay tayo. The PNP has a strong force of 228,000 personnel, and if we can convey to the Filipino people that we are united, I’m sure this will send a strong message. I hope that you are with me in putting this emotion, para mag-buklod-buklod ang ating bansa,” said PGen Acorda.
The Pre-Launching highlighted the PNP’s unwavering commitment in upholding the culture of excellence, discipline and patriotism within the ranks, one of the priority ideals of the Bagong Pilipinas Campaign in support to the government’s objective of transforming the country into a much more unified and progressive nation.

The PNP Top Cop also led the entire ranks in a symbolic pinning of the Bagong Pilipinas badge, which signifies the PNP’s collective commitment towards a “Serbisyong Nagkakaisa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas.” This represents the unified dedication of the PNP organization to the transformative vision outlined by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. This was followed with the recitation of the ‘Bagong Pilipinas Pledge of Commitment,’ where every PNP member solemnly took their oath towards the principles of accountable, principled and dependable governance; and the ceremonial lighting of the torch.
The event was meaningfully ended with the hope and optimism embedded deep within the hearts of every PNP personnel to imbibe the slogan, “Ang Bagong Pulis, Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas.”
