The world rapidly progresses. The policing strategies of the Philippine National Police adapted to the growth, compelling the renaming of Police Community Relations Group (PCRG) to Police Community Affairs and Development Group (PCADG), approved through Master Plan “Tagataguyod” pursuant to PNP MC 2019-046 PCAD dated August 6, 2019. PCADG was created to stand as the “cyber sentinel” of the organization through strategic communication, carrying out its functions throughout the country, and directly engaging with the communities through its Regional Community Affairs and Development Units (RPCADU).
Modern wars are not confronted on fields with shields, swords, and bloodshed. Instead, they are fought online – in a chaotic digital world that is made accessible to everyone with just one “touch of a button”. Battles in the present times silently unfold at the tips of our fingers. The impact of social media in our lives is undeniably powerful since it greatly enhances communication and facilitates information dissemination in a rapid way on a global scale.
Most of the time, fake news and misconceptions on PNP circulate in the system: to shape public perception and influence community’s beliefs. The organization finds it difficult and cumbersome in finding ways to maintain its reputation, countering problems on platforms like television, radio, internet, messaging and print (TRIMP). The Pulis News Network, the Sumbong N’yo Aksyon Agad and Pulis Serbis Balita are examples of the few programs created by PNP.
To support PNP with its fight in the modern world, RPCADU 7 channeled its efforts in collaborating with local radio stations, this time using them to be the voice of PNP through meaningful dialogues relative to the accomplishments and good deeds of the PNP organization.
Amidst the challenges and issues in our society, the radio program continues to serve the citizens of Cebu City. It is with great pleasure that RPCADU 7 personnel were chosen as one of the hosts of the program “Isumbong Mo Kay CD: A Radio Program for the People”, with the personnel from the City Community Affairs and Development Unit 7 also on board. Cebu City PNP Director, PCol Irene B. Dalogdog, initiated the said Radio program.
As regular guest radio hosts, PCADG personnel put premium in the advancement of knowledge, and in advocating community partnership, in the process nurturing transparency and making PNP vibrant in creating more responsive, collaborative, and safer communities.
In each episode, emphasis is placed on addressing community issues, assisting those in need, and providing clarification on rules and laws, strengthening the relationship between the government and the citizens, governance and service.
Through “Isumbong Mo Kay CD,” the welfare of each individual is continuously upheld, aiming for a just and prosperous society. The program is not just a radio show but a platform for unity and service to the nation.
