PSMBFI Turns over more than Php9 Million Financial Assistance for PCEAP Scholars

One of the most meaningful and lasting ways to honor the heroism of our nation’s peacekeepers, who put their lives on the line to protect our communities, is by providing educational support to their children. Education is a vital foundation for success, and giving these children the access to quality education can lighten the financial burden of the loss or incapacitation of police officers’ families.

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of Police General Nicolas D. Torre III, Chief, PNP, formally received the turnover of the Special Group Term Insurance (SGTI) Experience Refund amounting to Php9,675,379.67 from the Public Safety Mutual Benefit Fund, Inc. (PSMBFI) on June 18, 2025 at the Star Officers’ Lounge, NHQ PNP Building in Camp Crame, Quezon City. The ceremonial turnover was attended by PSMBFI President and CEO, Director Michael John F. Dubria, together with key officials from both institutions.

The fund will directly benefit the scholars of the PNP Comprehensive Educational Assistance Program (PCEAP), a donor-supported initiative that offers educational assistance to deserving dependents of police personnel. Recipients include children of police officers who were killed or wounded in action, those declared permanently disabled or medically incapacitated, and those who have been recognized for exemplary service. The assistance aims to ensure that their children’s academic aspirations continue despite personal and professional sacrifices made in the line of duty.

PNP deeply appreciates the unwavering support of PSMBFI in uplifting the lives of police families through sustainable and meaningful partnerships. Not only do such program eases financial strain, but also offers a sense of national unity and respect for those who serve. It communicates that the sacrifice made by police officers are recognized, and will never go unnoticed.

The turnover of this significant refund not only reflects the PSMBFI’s commitment to its members, but also strengthens PNP’s shared responsibility of building a brighter future for the next generation—one where honor, sacrifice, and dedication are matched by opportunity, compassion, and hope.
