Strengthening Faith Through Love and Marriage

On June 25, 2024, the PNP Chaplain Service (CHS) hosted two significant events that left a memorable impression to PNP personnel and their families. Both personnel from Camp Crame as well as those from the Police Regional Office 5 were eagerly anticipating to witness the said occasions. It was a special sunny morning for the entire police ranks assigned in Camp Gen. Simeon A Ola in Legazpi City, Albay, as they inaugurated their newly-constructed Sto. Niño Chapel inside the Camp. Said inauguration was even made memorable, as the Chief PNP himself, Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil personally attended and graced the said consecration.

Also in attendance were Police Major General Westmundo D. Obinque, Director of the Directorate for Intelligence; Police Brigadier General Jason D. Ortizo, Director, CHS; and Police Colonel Ronilo A. Datu (Ret.), formerly CHS 5 Pastoral Officer. The team were warmly welcomed by Police Brigadier General Andre P. Dizon, Regional Director, Police Regional Office 5, together with the rest of CHS 5 personnel.

Meanwhile, in the National Headquarters, police couples were enduring wedding jitters as they ready themselves for their special moment, excited as ever to exchange their wedding vows and to proclaim to the entire world their unique love-story. At around 2:00 PM, Police Colonel Jaime C. Seriña, the Deputy Director, CHS, along with CHS Camp Crame personnel, successfully facilitated the PNP Mass Wedding for 11 couples at the St. Joseph Church in Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame, Quezon City. The wedding ceremony was officiated by Most Reverend Oscar Jaime L. Florencio D.D., S.Th.D., the Bishop of the Military Ordinariate of the Philippines.

Police Lieutenant General Emmanuel B. Peralta, the Deputy Chief for Administration (TDCA), together with his wife, Mrs. Leah Mae R. Peralta, joined the couple’s family and friends, as well as other PNP personnel and Religious Coordinators from Crame-based Offices/Units, who also witnessed the said romantic event.

Among the 11 blessed newlyweds who received the Sacrament of Matrimony were: PEMS Byron F. Orate and Maria Janina P. Cacal from CIDG; PEMS Victor Leon T. Viola and PEMS Rovie P. Pancipanci from PIO and PRBS; PSMS Randy T. Ramos and May A. Ocampo from EOD/K9; PSSg Julius Magos and Maribeth Pancha from CHS; PSSg Era C. Are and Analyn R. Bacoto from DC; Pat Ron Kenneth R. Belda and Aleli A. Bartola from HPG; Pat James S. Lim and Mary Joy C. Galleto from HPG; Pat Emmanuel M. Fernandez and Julie Anne P. Dumagsa from PSPG; Ericson G. Dulay and NUP Eva Rose A. Santos from HS; Pat Louie P. Tamesis and Michelle V. Al-ajeel from AVSEGRP; and Civ. Frederick L. Celario Jr and NUP Jeraldine T. Corpuz from CES.

Right after the Church ceremony, the newlyweds, together with their guests and other PNP personnel who witnessed their vows gathered for a festive meal at the PNP Multi-Purpose Center, Camp Crame which served as the venue of their wedding reception.
