Police Brigadier General Jean Salvador Fajardo had made history as the first female Regional Director in the Philippine National Police (PNP). On January 13, 2025, she officially assumed her post as the 35th Regional Director of Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) during a ceremony at Camp Captain Julian Olivas in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
A proud member of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Class of 1996, PBGen. Fajardo had consistently broken barriers in her career. A lawyer and seasoned officer, she had brought extensive knowledge and expertise to her leadership. She previously served as the first female spokesperson for PNP, holding the position for a record-breaking tenure. As the Chief of the Public Information Office, she had excelled in promoting transparency and building public trust through effective communication.
PBGen. Fajardo is no stranger to PRO3, having served as the Provincial Director of Pampanga Police and as the Intelligence Chief of the same regional office. In these roles, she had spearheaded various initiatives to improve public safety and security, earning recognition for her strategic and results-driven leadership.
In her inaugural address, PBGen. Fajardo had stressed the importance of professionalism and integrity within the police force. She had urged all provincial and city police directors under PRO3 to focus on ensuring a safe and peaceful election period while maintaining the PNP’s non-partisan stance.
“Iisa lang ang hiling ng PNP leadership, at ito rin ang hiling ko: magtrabaho tayo nang maayos. Alam natin na likas na magagaling ang ating mga PNP personnel, kaya’t ang kailangan lang ay gawin natin ang tama at nararapat. This is not my standard but the standard of the PNP. Either we do our job or we don’t do it at all,” she had emphasized.
PBGen. Fajardo assures continuity of existing policies and programs within PRO3 while committing to enhancing ongoing initiatives. She emphasizes building on the strong foundations laid by her predecessors, with new directives to be introduced at the appropriate time.
PBGen. Fajardo’s appointment as Regional Director is a historic milestone, highlighting the evolving role of women in PNP and their growing contributions to law enforcement and national security. Her leadership promotes merit and equal opportunities, fostering collaboration among the police force, the community, and stakeholders. As the region prepares for the upcoming election period, her fresh perspective and dynamic leadership are expected to strengthen public safety, definitely setting a precedent for future generations of female officers in PNP.
