One of the key visions of Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Acting Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), is the sustained implementation of campaigns against illegal drugs, loose firearms, and terrorism. This vision aims to eradicate individuals and groups engaged in unlawful activities that endanger national security and harm communities across the country.
On November 29, 2025, this leadership direction resulted in another significant breakthrough as operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) successfully dismantled an illegal firearms manufacturing hub in Los Baños, Laguna.

Based on the report, from 9:25 AM to 3:30 PM, personnel of the CIDG Laguna Provincial Field Unit (PFU), in close coordination with the Laguna Provincial Highway Patrol Team and the Los Baños Municipal Police Station, implemented a Search Warrant for violation of Section 32 of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) in Barangay San Antonio.
The operation uncovered a substantial cache of firearm parts and components, including lower and upper receivers, silencers and suppressors, muzzle brakes, handguards, barrels, slides, live ammunition, finished and unfinished magazines, charging handles, grips, and recoil springs.

Authorities likewise seized five Computer Numerical Control machines believed to be used in crafting firearm components, along with computer systems and related devices that supported the illegal manufacturing process. The total estimated value of all recovered machinery and items reached Php16,000,000.

The subject of the search warrant, identified only as “Allan,” a resident of the same barangay, is allegedly involved in the illegal production of parts for long firearms. As of this writing, the suspect remains at large, and a criminal complaint for violating Section 32 of RA 10591 is being prepared.
PLtGen Nartatez lauded the operatives for their precise execution and coordination, stressing that operations of this scale directly protect communities from potential violence.
“Ang pagtukoy at pagsugpo sa ganitong klase ng operasyon ay napakahalaga. Hindi lang ito simpleng kaso ng loose firearms—ito ay pinagmumulan ng mga baril na maaaring magamit sa krimen. Our teams acted decisively, and because of that, we were able to stop thousands of potential weapons from reaching our communities,” he said.
PNP assures the public that it remains firm and consistent in enforcing the law, further strengthening proactive operations against criminality and illegal firearms manufacturing across the country.
