A Philippine National Police (PNP) officer brought home two medals after delivering an impressive performance at an international Muay Thai competition in Thailand.
Police Corporal Jonard E. Apa-an of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) won a silver medal in the 51-kilogram Muay Thai Combat category and a bronze medal in the Wai Kru Singles event during the Siamyout Global Heritage Muay Thai Series 2026, held in Samut Songkhram, Thailand, from August 10 to 12.
PCpl Apa-an’s achievement also carried significance beyond the medals. As a member of the police force, he represents an organization whose personnel are expected to maintain discipline, resilience, and commitment in carrying out their responsibilities. These qualities likewise proved valuable as he competed on an international stage against athletes from other countries.
Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., PNP Chief, congratulated PCpl Apa-an for representing the PNP and the Philippines in the international competition, stating: “Proud tayo sa kanya. He showed that the discipline we develop in the police service can also take us far in other fields. Two medals is already a good story to bring home.”
The PNP continues to support its personnel who excel in sports and other fields, recognizing that their achievements help build morale within the organization, strengthen camaraderie, and bring pride to the country.
More importantly, PCpl Apa-an’s achievement demonstrates that with discipline, hard work, and commitment, PNP personnel can rise to the challenge and make their mark even on the international stage.
