“To Serve, Protect, and Inspire”

During his third week as the Acting Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. lauded the men and women of the police organization for their dedication and professionalism in safeguarding communities while upholding the rights of every Filipino citizen.

In his address during the Traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held at the PNP Headquarters in Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City, on September 15, 2025, PLtGen Nartatez expressed his appreciation to the police force’s accomplishments, particularly in the professional handling of the recent protest rallies across the country, despite numerous challenges and limitations.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our personnel for your recent accomplishments and for keeping our communities safe, especially the way you all handled the protest rallies across the country, showing maximum tolerance while ensuring public safety,” he said.

He also highlighted one of the government’s recent milestones—the launch of the Unified 911 System led by Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla.

“Noong nakaraang linggo, inilunsad natin ang Unified 911 System kasama ang ating DILG. Noon, kailangang kabisaduhin ang iba’t ibang numero para sa iba’t ibang klaseng serbisyo. Ngayon, isang numero na lang ang kailangan—911. Simple, malinaw, at mabilis. Hinihimok ko ang lahat na sama-sama nating pagtagumpayin ang sistemang ito at gamitin nang lubos para mapabuti ang ating serbisyo,” he said.

The Unified 911 System streamlines emergency response nationwide, eliminating the need to memorize multiple hotline numbers and enabling faster coordination for police, fire, medical, and disaster response services.

PLtGen Nartatez also reminded all PNP personnel that their role is not just a responsibility, it is an honor. He urged them to continue exercising fairness, professionalism, and restraint while serving the public.

He called on the organization to remain united in fulfilling the PNP’s mission, stating: “Together, we can continue to uphold the mission of the Philippine National Police—to serve, protect, and inspire the communities we sworn to safeguard. Sa pagsisimula ng panibagong linggo, patuloy tayong magtrabaho para sa kaligtasan at kapayapaan ng buong Pilipinas.”

Under his leadership, PNP vowed to strengthen its commitment to public service, ensuring that the police force remains a pillar of peace, order, and security for the nation.
