Peacekeeping and community safety remain a shared responsibility between law enforcement and the public, which is why active community support is at the heart of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Focused Agenda.
Under the leadership of Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Acting PNP Chief, this commitment to partnership was once again demonstrated after the PNP recovered millions worth of suspected illegal drugs in the coastal area of Linapacan, Palawan, on November 18, 2025, following a timely report from a concerned citizen.
Based on reports, at around 6:00 PM, personnel from the Linapacan Municipal Police Station, the Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit, and the Provincial Intelligence Unit immediately responded to a call from a concerned resident of Barangay Maroyog-royog. The informant reported that a certain alias “Benjo” had found packages believed to contain illegal drugs along the coastline of Sitio Calelenday.

Upon reaching the area, the responding teams confirmed the presence of several boxes wrapped in black tape and marked with the word “STONE.” The boxes were found scattered along the shoreline and were later verified to contain suspected cocaine with an estimated total weight of 25,210 grams, valued at Php133,613,000 based on the standard drug price.
PLtGen Nartatez recognized the significance of the public’s immediate response, citing it as a prime example of effective community policing.
“Napakahalaga ng papel ng mamamayan dito. Isang tawag lang, at agad nating napigilan bago pa ang ganito kalaking halaga ng droga ay makasira ng buhay. This is how policing works kung may malinaw na ugnayan at mabilis na aksyon,” he said.
The recovered evidence has been turned over to the Palawan Provincial Forensic Unit and will be forwarded to the PDEA Palawan Office for proper documentation and disposition.
PNP assures the public that it will continue its aggressive operations to combat illegal drugs, emphasizing that sustained community cooperation remains crucial in building a safer, more secure, and drug-free Bagong Pilipinas.
