From Project F.I.V.E. Scholar to a Degree Holder

What once seemed like a distant dream has now become a reality for an education student named Lynn Lorenzana L. Severino, a young scholar of the Philippine National Police (PNP) from Legazpi City, as she proudly marched as one of the graduates of Daraga Community College during the graduation ceremony on May 29, 2026. The student, a beneficiary of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 5 (RMFB 5) Project F.I.V.E. (Fight Insurgency Via Education), successfully earned her Bachelor of Elementary Education degree after years of hard work, perseverance, and determination.

Like other students from underprivileged communities, she faced financial difficulties and personal challenges while pursuing her education. However, despite these obstacles, she remained focused on her goal of completing college and building a better future for herself and her family. Her success story reflects the impact of Project F.I.V.E., an initiative of RMFB 5 that seeks to provide educational opportunities to deserving youth from communities vulnerable to poverty and insurgency. Through educational support and guidance, the program aims to empower young people and steer them toward productive and meaningful lives.

More than an academic achievement, her graduation became a symbol of hope for her community, embodying the idea that it truly takes a village to raise a child. According to Police Colonel Rodelon A. Betita, Force Commander of RMFB 5, this milestone highlights the importance of investing in education as a pathway to peace, progress, and sustainable development. He expressed pride in the scholar’s accomplishment and reaffirmed the unit’s commitment to supporting programs that create positive change in communities.

The Nation’s Peacekeepers, under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., PNP Chief, join the government’s campaign in providing quality education for all as an investment in the nation’s future, where every student who graduates can contribute to safer and more peaceful communities, as exemplified by a newly graduated educator.

For the newly graduated scholar, her diploma represents the culmination of years of sacrifice. It marks the beginning of her aspiration to uplift not only her personal circumstances but also the community from which she came. As a future educator, Teacher Lynn now has the opportunity to inspire and guide the next generation of learners. Her success story serves as an inspiration to other young people across the region, proving that with determination, support, and opportunity, dreams can be achieved and brighter futures can be built.
