The Philippine National Police (PNP) marked a significant milestone in strengthening its leadership and operational capability as 5,602 Second-Level Uniformed Personnel took their oath and received their new ranks in simultaneous ceremonies nationwide on July 29, 2026, under the First Cycle Calendar Year 2026 Regular Promotion Program.
At the PNP National Headquarters in Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, PNP, led the ceremony where 393 police personnel were promoted and participated in the oath-taking, donning, and pinning of ranks. Simultaneously, 5,209 newly promoted personnel joined similar ceremonies in their respective Police Regional Offices and National Support Units, reflecting the organization’s commitment to recognizing merit and strengthening its workforce.
The promotion program covered personnel advancing from the rank of Police Corporal to Police Major, recognizing their dedication, competence, and readiness to assume greater responsibilities in fulfilling the PNP’s mandate to maintain peace and order and ensure public safety.
More than a recognition of years of service and professional achievement, the simultaneous nationwide promotion highlights the PNP’s continuing commitment to personnel development and organizational excellence under its Focused Agenda, particularly through the Morale and Welfare Pillar.
In his message, PGen Nartatez reminded the newly promoted personnel that while rank represents professional achievement, the true measure of a police officer lies in the quality of service rendered to the public.
“With the rank you now wear, what people will remember is how you treat them. Kung naging magalang kayo, kung nakinig kayo, at kung naramdaman nilang may pulis na handang tumulong. Iyon ang tunay na sukatan ng ating serbisyo,” he said.
The PNP Chief emphasized that every promotion carries with it greater responsibility and accountability, urging the newly promoted personnel to remain faithful to the purpose that inspired them to join the police service.
“As you assume greater responsibilities, never lose sight of why you joined the service. We did not wear this uniform to seek recognition. We wear it because every Filipino deserves to live in a community that is safe, peaceful, and secure,” he added.
Recognizing that every achievement is shared with those who stand behind every police officer, PGen Nartatez also expressed his gratitude to the families of the newly promoted personnel for their unwavering support, sacrifices, and understanding throughout their loved ones’ careers in the police service.
As the newly promoted personnel assume greater responsibilities in their respective assignments, the PNP continues to uphold professionalism, integrity, and service excellence while building a more capable and responsive organization.
