A 23-year-old man, identified only by the alias Cristobal, is now behind bars after operatives of the Pateros Municipal Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) caught him red-handed selling illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation on the evening of May 10, 2025 in Barangay Sta. Ana, Pateros.
The sting, which took place around 9:00 PM along Rosales Street, was led by PLt Felecito M. Brijuega Jr., under the supervision of PCol Anthony C. Gantang, Chief of Police, Pateros MPS. A poseur buyer successfully purchased marijuana from the suspect, prompting authorities to immediately move in and make the arrest.

Seized during the operation were a sachet of dried marijuana kush, a marked Php1,000 bill, four additional sachets of marijuana, and a staggering two kilograms of suspected shabu with a combined estimated value of Php3 Million.
Authorities revealed that the suspect is unemployed and identified High-Value Individual (HVI) in the illegal drug trade. He is now facing charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and is undergoing inquest proceedings as of this writing at the Rizal Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.

Police Brigadier General Joseph R. Arguelles, Acting District Director of the Southern Police District (SPD), commended the team’s precise and quick action, saying: “This is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our men on the ground. I salute the Pateros police for their courage and resolve. Let this be a clear message to those involved in the drug trade: We are watching, and we will not hesitate to act.”
Police Major General Anthony A. Aberin, Regional Director of National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), continues to emphasize the importance of sustained efforts to dismantle drug operations across Metro Manila. With each successful mission, the police move one step closer to making communities safer and drug-free.
